About Cogis

Cogis is the Dutch expert centre on the (psycho)social effects of war, persecution, aggression and violence. Our aim is to prevent any sort of violence from having detrimental effects on the psychosocial wellbeing of individual people, and the people they live and work with.

To attain this, Cogis develops and disperses knowledge, and offers advise and counselling. Cogis combines its expertise with that of a widespread network of experts and professionals in the field of psychotrauma.

We have a broad range of products and services in our field of expertise always offering them with a tailored approach. Our products include open registration training programmes as well as tailor-made programmes for individual clients.

Historically Cogis’ main areas of interest were the support of victims of the Second World War, and the enhancement of the skills, knowledge and wellbeing of mental health professionals and social workers supporting these victims. Over the past years Cogis has broadened its expertise to include the effects of aggression and violence prevalent in modern society.
